Website redesign vs. rebuild: how to decide

A redesign updates how your current site looks and reads. A rebuild replaces the underlying platform and structure. The right choice depends on what's actually holding the site back.

When a redesign is usually enough

The platform is reasonably current and easy to edit, the main problems are visual or messaging, and the page structure still matches your services.

When a rebuild makes more sense

The site is hard or impossible to update, it's slow or broken on phones, you need features the platform can't support (customer portals, connected forms, booking), or the structure no longer fits your business.

Protecting search visibility

Whichever path you choose, keep existing URLs where possible and redirect old URLs to their new equivalents. Removing pages without redirects can lose the visibility those pages earned.

Questions to ask first

What do customers struggle with on the current site? What does your team struggle with? Which pages bring in inquiries today? Answer those before choosing.
